I’m currently retired. Before retirement, I worked in government and academia. Most recently I worked at Empire State Development, New York’s economic development agency, where I headed up the Policy and Research division for 13 years. While there I helped develop ESD’s strategies, implemented benefit-cost analysis, led a team that developed New York’s business recovery program after 9/11, and helped attract Global Foundries to New York State. Prior to that I was a policy analyst for the New York State Senate, where I dealt with local government, state finance, economic development, and drunk driving issues, among others. I was also an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Hamilton and Kirkland Colleges, and an Adjunct Professor at Russell Sage College. I hold a Ph. D. in Political Science from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, an M.B.A. from the University at Albany, and a B. A. from Lehigh University.
